Wifi

November 11th, 2008 by Wenslauw

Finally I have wifi that works all over the house and on all devices. For a while I have been trying to get a Netgear device to run properly, but it never did work for all the appliances. Last week I got an Apple Airport Extreme and now things work well. Steady connections and no more mysterious slowdowns.

It’s not cheap, but when you’ve wasted hours on trying to find out why something doesn’t work a higher price is no longer an object.

I like that the device itself noticed it is behind a NAT router. So it suggested being set up as a bridge. Which is what no other wireless router has ever done for me before (and I tried several). I set it up as a bridge which means all my appliances are now on one network. Very nice.

So all in all I’m becoming more of an Apple fanboy. I think within three months I will have my first Apple computer.
